The Drop-In Family & Community Campus

The DIFACC Initiative

The Drop-In Family & Community Campus (DIFACC) is The Root Foundation’s long-term vision for a future integrated hub in Baton Rouge.

Rather than operating disconnected services across multiple places, DIFACC is being designed as a model that would bring family stabilization, youth leadership, workforce opportunity, and

Who We Are - The Root Foundation

What We Hope to Build

The long-term DIFACC vision includes space for:

  • workforce readiness and retention support
  • youth leadership and diversion programming
  • family stabilization services
  • community gathering and learning space
  • economic opportunity and entrepreneurship initiatives

Why It Matters

We believe communities are strongest when support systems are connected. A future campus model like DIFACC would create an opportunity to address multiple root causes of instability in one place while strengthening pathways to economic growth and neighborhood well-being.

Where We Are Now

Right now, The Root Foundation is focused on building the foundation for this work through planning, partnership development, pilot strategy, and early-stage support.

We are not presenting DIFACC as a finished project. We are building toward it intentionally.
